Facebook Launches ‘Interest Lists’ – Subscribe To Your Interests!

In recent weeks, Facebook has rolled out many innovative features to make users experience a new level of Social Networking. After its launch of the Timeline feature for brand pages, the next big thing to hit Facebook users is ‘Interest Lists’. It was officially announced on 8th March 2012. Inspired by Twitter’s lists and Pinterest’s boards, ‘Interest Lists’ allows you to stay updated with stuff you care about. Previously, Facebook unveiled ‘Lists’ feature that organizes friends on Facebook. It lets a user categorize friends based on acquaintance and relationships and focus on the people who matter most. Similarly, Interest Lists gives users the power to keep up with the topics that matter the most to them. Currently, Faceook has created several generic lists like business, sports, and style. Asides that, there are specific lists like NFL Teams which feature all the teams, athletes, and sports channels. Moreover, users can also generate and manage their own Interest List. So now you can have a special news feed for each topic just like a newspaper. |
How Interest Lists Work? |

Let us understand how these ‘Interest Lists’ works with the help of an example. First, open up “Add interests” page where you will find thousands of lists on various topics like business, sports and arts. Now, let’s say you are font of receiving Facebook News or social media monitoring, search for the keyword and you will get several lists related to your term. Simply subscribe to the list you want and receive updates from all the pages/people featured on that particular list. This means that you don’t need to follow each and every page that provides Facebook news as you will be receiving updates from all pages featured on the Interest List. Your subscribed Interest Lists will appear on the left of your screen under the INTERESTS tab. |

How to Create Interest Lists? |

As mentioned earlier, Facebook has allowed its users to create their own custom Interest Lists. Creating an interest list is easy as 1, 2, 3. Here is how you go about it: |
